First Graders Loved Pirate Ship

Academy at the Lakes First Graders went to Raymond James Stadium for a grand tour of the stadium on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. The purpose of the trip was to help the students learn about sportsmanship and teamwork in a real-life situation. We had the opportunity to walk out on the playing field through the home team’s gate and to visit their locker room where they store all their gear during home games. Students also had the pleasure of viewing the field from one of the Luxury suites that many big companies use with their clients. The highlight of the tour was the “Pirate Ship.” During games, no one is allowed to get on the pirate ship but on our tour, the children were able to go on the actual pirate ship and they loved it!!
