Students also have been learning about letter writing, so their follow-up activity was to write “thank-you” letters to the firemen. The teachers also enjoyed the visit from the “good-looking” firemen, so it was a great visit for all. -Contributors: Desiree Rodriguez and Del Garside
In case you have been asking “Where was the fire?”….There was none. On Friday, January 15, 2010, Pasco County firemen visited the Wendlek Campus to enlighten our Lower Division students on fire safety and transportation. Students listened intently and eagerly participated in the interactive session with the firemen. They learned about the different siren sounds and got an up-close look at fire engine #23 and its components along with a Pasco County Fire Rescue vehicle.
This was a great opportunity for our little ones to get a better understanding of the important role that firemen play and how they contribute to our community. Afterwards, students bid the firemen a cheerful farewell and happily returned to their classes.
