Darin Kilfoyl ’17, St. John’s River State College Commit, Pitches No-Hitter

Darin Kilfoyl ’17 pitched one of the best high school baseball games Coach John DiBenedetto had ever seen.

On Monday, March 6 Darin pitched a no-hitter versus Keswick Christian, throwing 7 innings with 15 strikeouts for a 1-0 AATL win. He will continue his stellar baseball career next year at St. John’s River State College in Palatka.

“Darin was in complete control from the start,” Coach DiBenedetto said. “Keswick is an extremely tough opponent with a great offense which makes his no-hitter even more impressive.”

“We are off to a wonderful start and have played really competitive baseball so far. Our upperclassmen have done a tremendous job with Darin Kilfoyl, Joel Eason, and Eric Hutchison leading a very young team. Our goal and motto from the beginning of the year as a group has been ‘one family, one goal.’ That goal is to be in the District Championship.”

Boasting this win over Keswick Christian School and a 4-1 record so far this year, Coach Debenidetto and his team are on their way to reaching their goal of being the first baseball team to put a banner up in The House of Blues, Academy’s gym.
