Libraries

Academy at the Lakes Library celebrates the process by which students become life-long learners and life-long readers. The mission of the Media Program is to support classroom curriculum and enhance students’ research and reading skills. We have two libraries, both of which are supported with an electronic online card catalog and age-appropriate electronic databases.

On the Wendlek Campus, students in grades JK through 4 have access to the Kretzinger Media Center. This quaint, fun place serves as a resource for all Lower Division students. In grades JK through 4, students attend information literacy programs that are aligned with the classroom curriculum. And for students in grades 2-4, technology instruction is a core component of their curriculum.

The Mary K. Haire Media Center on the McCormick Campus serves the Middle and Upper Divisions. While there is still strong support for reading, this Media Center is designed more as a virtual reference site with a computer lab and an emphasis on using online resources for research. Students have access to dozens of online databases to aid in their research.
