Academy at the Lakes believes in a technology-enhanced learning environment that seamlessly integrates modern technology into the classroom to compliment teaching, enhance curricula, support school operations and administration, and raise student achievement. All students have reliable access to, and instruction in, current technology tools in order to provide them with the knowledge and skills required to be successful in school and in life.
Academy at the Lakes has school-wide wireless internet access so all students can utilize online resources to enhance their learning experience. In addition, all students receive a technology-rich curriculum whereby they are able to learn or improve their skills in using computers, operating systems, keyboarding, word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and multimedia.
Beginning with the fall semester of the 2010-2011 academic year, high school freshmen will be required to bring their own laptop for use in class and at home. Many of our teachers use interactive technology in the classroom and seamless access for students is very important. Academy provides campus-wide wireless Internet to ensure that students have access to the most current tools and online resources. Learn more about our Laptop Program here.
