Castles, Kingdoms, and Catapults

As part of the overall curricular theme for the year, Environments and Communities, fifth and sixth grade students have been exploring a unit on “Castles and Kingdoms.”

In Science class, the students designed and built popsicle-stick catapults. They examined the variables that would affect catapult launching distance and power. The class loved testing their catapults with marshmallow projectiles against stacks of paper cups!
