Alex Kimball ’19, has been selected by the USF Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors as one of fourteen finalists for the USF Young Innovator’s Contest. Alex was selected as a finalist out of 536 applicants!
Alex created her invention for our Middle Division Invention Convention that took place this past December. She will participate in a special workshop on Saturday, February 4th to prepare to present her invention to the judges. She is the inventor of “The Sweet Spot for Sponges,” a UV light sponge disinfection system.
Finalist judging takes place at the University of South Florida on February 10th (in honor of Thomas Edison’s birthday) at 6:30 PM. Finalists in each division present their invention to a group of highly experienced and distinguished judges. The Galleria at the University of South Florida is the venue and can hold up to 500 attendees.
