, Academy Triumphs Again at the Pasco Regional Science Fair, Academy at the Lakes

This weekend, 6 representatives from the MD and UD attended the Pasco County Science Fair. They competed against 260 other students for 24 spots at the State Science Fair and 2 spots at the International Science Fair. The results were amazing:

  • 4th Place – Brett Fairchild, class of 2017, with his project Sympathetic Vibration of Guitars
  • 1st Place Computer Science and the Broadcom Masters Award – SeungJin Park, class of 2018, with his project Computing Inception
  • 1st Place in Chemistry, the Chem for Life Award and the Broadcom Masters Award, Advancing to the State Science Fair – Anmol Warman, class of 2018, with his project Chelating Cadmium
  • 1st Place in Health and Medicine, and Advancing to the State Science Fair – Regan McCormick, class of 2017, with her project The Effects of a High-Fat Diet on Drosophila
  • 1st Place in Zoology, and Advancing to the State Science Fair – Neha Gupta, class of 2017, with her project The Effects of Organically verses Non-Organically Grown Bananas on Drosophila
  • 1st Place in Mathematics, Mu Alpha Theta Award, Advancing to the State Science Fair, International Science Fair representative – Raj Warman, class of 2016, with his project Modeling Genetic Amplification
