The 3 day Florida State Science and Engineering Fair culminated on Thursday, April 10 with the awards ceremony.
Over 890 students competed in the state’s largest academic competition. Representing Academy in the Senior division were Raj Warman (class on 2016), Regan McCormick (class of 2017), Neha Gupta (class of 2017) and in the Junior division Anmol Warman (class of 2018).
The students’ hard work was rewarded with three of the four Academy attendees receiving category awards.
- Raj Warman placed 4 th in Mathematics with his project “Modeling DNA Amplification.”
- Regan McCormick also placed 4th in Medicine and Health with her project “The Effects of a High-Fat Diet on Drosophila.”
- Placing 1st in the category of Chemistry was Anmol Warman with his project “Chelating the Toxic Metal Cadmium.”
These awards made Academy at the Lakes the most awarded school from Pasco county!
Raj Warman will now continue on and represent the Academy at the International Science Fair in Los Angeles in May.
