Ms. Nadow’s Language Arts Class Explore Shakespeare Through Shakespeare Stations

7th Grade Academy at the Lakes students were introduced to the world and times of William Shakespeare and the Elizabethan Era in Language Arts class with Ms. Nadow the first day back from Winter Break as they prepared to begin studying his play A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Students rotated through 20 different activity stations which included: trying to write with a quill and ink, sketching William Shakespeare from a painting, creating a unique Shakespearean insult, going on a 3-D tour of the Globe Theater, writing using Gothic calligraphy, coloring period costumes, selecting a personalized weapon based on the times, and reading several different texts about the period.

“Creative play and learning in the form of the activity stations is intended to develop student interest in the history and life of the times of one of our most famous English writers of all time,” Nadow explained.
