Sports Update: Softball Starts with Perfect Record Plus Track and Field, Tennis, and Baseball

Sports Update

The Academy Softball Team started their season with a perfect record of 9 wins and 0 losses. They’re currently ranked as the Number 1 Class 2A team in Florida. They will Compete in the Kissimmee Classic Tournament on April 5th-7th. This invitation-only tournament will include many of the top teams in Florida.

Varsity Track and Field will compete in their District Meet on April 9th at Indian Rocks Christian School. Peyton Williams ran the first steeplechase in school history and set a new school record in 3200, dropping 47 seconds off the previous record. Three freshmen set new school records at the Berkeley Track Meet: Annelise Youngblood, Kathryn Johnson, and Peyton Williams. Kathryn Johnson set new school record in 1600. Annelise Youngblood set a new school record in 100 hurdles.

Varsity Tennis will compete in their District Tournament on April 17-18 at Northdale Golf and Tennis Club. Three of our players are undefeated in singles matches: Dion Loutas, Aidan Lilienthal, Daniella Tello-Garzon.

Varsity Baseball is off to their best start in school history, including a win against district power, Canterbury.

67 of our athletes also participated in the All School Musical, Guys and Dolls, on Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17, including 14 athletes from our state championship football team.
