KISSIMMEE KLASSIC DAY ONE RECAP

The Kissimmee Klassic kicked off on Thursday and this tournament that garnered national attention certainly did not disappoint.

Today, we’re breaking the bracket down game by game.

Yesterday, we spotlighted the Lakewood Ranch High School versus Academy at the Lakes first round match up, and with seven scoreless innings, it was nothing short of a pitcher’s duel.

Alexis Kilfoyl held down the mound for the Wildcats, facing 28 Lakewood Ranch batters and striking out 16 of them, going all eight innings in an intense game.

UConn commit Peyton Kinney, pitching for Lakewood, only allowed two hit the entire evening: a double in the first inning for freshman Brooke Blankenship and a single for 8th grade catcher Hannah Church, who was solid behind the plate catching Kilfoyl’s great game.
