Canterbury (16-11) at Academy at the Lakes (24-3): The winner of this game has great shot at winning the state title. That is what happened last season. The Crusaders, who lost to the rival Wildcats in the district final last season, came back to win in the region final en route to becoming state champions for the third time in the past five seasons. This season, AATL has been dominant in the series, winning all three by a combined 17-4. Alexis Kilfoyl, an Alabama signee, has more than 200 strikeouts this season and recorded the 800th strikeout of her career last week. The Wildcats ace is 20-1 with a 0.37 ERA and 217 strikeouts. The Crusaders had to rebuild after losing most of their lineup from last season, including Taylor Bump (Michigan) and Danielle Romanello (Florida) who are now playing in college. A tough schedule has paid off with Canterbury winning six of its last seven, the lone loss coming against AATL. Jocelyn Alonso is hitting a team-leading .409 for the Crusaders.
