Environmental Science is a hands-on, high-school level science elective designed to introduce students to major ecological concepts and environmental issues.
The curriculum includes weekly field work at Academy’s nearby 47-acre undeveloped property, and it focuses on concepts that are real-life issues. The goal is to promote awareness and understanding of practical, everyday problems that affect the lives of students and their families.
Through the generosity of its families, the school recently purchased a 26-foot pontoon boat that can hold up to 17 student researchers as they explore adjacent Myrtle Lake and other local waterways.
