Buccaneers Training Camp

Going camping… Bucs style! Our Sports Broadcasting students kicked off the school year early with front-row seats at Bucs Training Camp.

From the sidelines to the interview podium, they jumped right into the action – reporting, observing the pros at work, and even getting a behind-the-scenes look at team facilities.

Oh, and did we mention the free Icee pops? Not a bad way to start the semester!

Faculty Retreat

It’s not just our students who headed out on retreats – our incredible faculty and staff got a much-needed day to relax, reconnect, and recharge. Sharing good food, great company, and plenty of fun (including games!), our team took a moment to reset and focus on the year ahead.

We’re so grateful for the incredible teachers and staff who help make Academy what it is!

Orientation Day 

Orientation Day was a special time for our students to reconnect with the school or discover it for the very first time. From meeting their teachers and exploring their class schedules to unlocking those tricky locker combinations, it was all about setting the stage for an amazing school year.

Whether returning students or newcomers, Orientation Day helped everyone feel confident, prepared, and excited for Day 1!

Senior Sunrise 

Rise and shine! Before the first day of the school, the senior class gathered to watch the sunrise – a perfect way to start fresh and come together as one. This year, the Class of ’26 set the tone with style! Here’s to a year full of possibilities!

First Day

Off and running! Day 1 is in the books, and it was amazing! From the buzz in the hallways to the smiles in every classroom, the energy made it clear this year is going to be one to remember.

Parent Night

Academy at the Lakes opened the school year with a special Welcome Back Night for families. Parents had the chance to explore their child’s schedule and, most importantly, meet the amazing teachers who will guide their children this year.

House Tapping

In the House! Few days are more meaningful at Academy than when students get tapped into their houses – and the excitement was definitely high!

To all our new Ospreys, Kestrels, Peregrines, and Nighthawks: Welcome to the flock. Let the friendly competition begin!

Retreat Week 

School spirit was in full swing at the Upper and Middle Division retreats! Highlights included:

• Skits worthy of standing ovations.
• House challenges that ignited legendary rivalries.
• Water games that turned fun into full-on splash battles.

Sure, it’s school… but with less homework and way more sunscreen. These retreats aren’t just tradition – they’re a rite of passage.
