Here is a glimpse at Life at the Lakes in January.
5th and 6th Grade Epcot Trip
Our 5th and 6th Grade students headed to Epcot, where classroom concepts came to life in real time. Sixth Grade students experienced force and motion from the front row of the park’s roller coasters, while Fifth Grade students saw hydroponic gardening in action during the Living with the Land boat ride. It was a day of discovery, connection, and plenty of excitement along the way.

Discover Upper Division Pancake Breakfast
Pancakes, questions, and a peek behind the curtain — our 8th Grade students got a taste of Upper Division life.
They met with current Upper Division students, asked candid questions and heard firsthand what high school is really like. Upper Division teachers introduced themselves and highlighted the courses and opportunities ahead.
Upper Division Director Jen Sciortino welcomed the Class of 2030 and outlined the expectations for the transition. A confident first step toward high school.

9th Grade Bake Sale
Flour flew and ovens worked overtime as our 9th Grade students hosted a bake sale to support rescue animals.
From homemade treats to thoughtful planning, their efforts paid off. In just one day, they raised $750 for AnimalLuvr’s Dream Rescue — a powerful example of student initiative in action.
Lower Division Production
Our Lower Division students brought Academy Sings! to life with a vibrant celebration of rhythm, culture and community. Each Grade performed selections ranging from playful folk tunes to global rhythms, with ensemble numbers highlighting the joy of singing together.
A standout moment came during Don’t Give Up on Me, led by surprise soloists including Mr. Heller. As teachers lined the stairs and parents joined from the audience, the room filled with emotion.
The show closed with a spirited reprise of Sing, sending the audience out smiling. Guided by Ms. Larkie Fleming, Ms. Raini Jewell and Ms. Steph Huff, the performance was a meaningful celebration of music and community.

HOSA Regionals
Our HOSA students delivered an impressive showing at the Regional Competition in Lakeland, with 28 students competing across 11 healthcare-focused events — and multiple Top 5 finishes.

Up next: the State Leadership Conference in April.

Middle Division Robotics Regionals
Our Middle Division Robotics Team advanced to State after a strong performance at Regionals.
Students designed, built and programmed robots to complete a series of challenges, while also developing an innovative solution to a real-world problem in archaeology — the result of months of research and collaboration with a professional archaeologist.
Their preparation, teamwork and technical skill set them apart. We look forward to cheering them on at State.
Pep Rally
Our Upper and Middle Divisions kicked off Friday Night Fanfare with a high-energy pep rally.
Winter Sports teams and athletes were recognized before the crowd jumped into crowd-favorite games, including an air-mattress relay and spirited rounds of rock, paper, scissors. The momentum carried straight into an unforgettable Fanfare
Moments like these highlight the spirit and connection that define our Academy community.
Fight, fight, blue and white!

Friday Night Fanfare
Friday Night Fanfare brought our community together for an evening packed with school spirit. Middle and Upper Division basketball teams competed on the court while families enjoyed food trucks, pep band performances and nonstop fan energy.
Face painting, bounce houses and a bucket-drumming halftime show added to the atmosphere, making it a true community celebration.
Thank you to @celebrateeverything_byvalerie and our Wildlife yearbook students for capturing the night.

Winter Sports Senior Night
Winter Sports Senior Night celebrated a dedicated group of student-athletes who have been central to Academy athletics.
Family and friends gathered to recognize seniors from basketball and soccer to weightlifting — competitors who showed up, worked hard and represented the Academy with pride.
We’re grateful for their commitment and the standard they set.
The Crucible
Our Upper Division Theater class brought The Crucible to the stage in an impressive student-led production.
Students took on key roles both onstage and behind the scenes, helping bring this powerful story-still as relevant today as when Arthur Miller wrote it-to life.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support their talent and hard work!
