Lifer Spotlight: Chloe '25

After spending her entire educational journey at Academy at the Lakes, Chloe Kamat is headed to the University of Kentucky Honors College, where she will study human health services with the goal of becoming a physician assistant.

An AP Scholar with Distinction and the recipient of the Female Athlete of the Year award, Chloe’s hard work and dedication are evident both in and out of the classroom. A devoted and talented athlete, her passion for sports began in middle school with track and volleyball. In high school, she continued her athletic journey as a member of the basketball, weightlifting, and swim teams, ultimately earning district champion titles in both weightlifting and swimming.

Chloe’s talents extended far beyond athletics. She played in the violin orchestra for 11 years and performed in the pit orchestra for the All-School Musical. She also sang in both the Lower Division and Middle School Chorus, showcasing her artistic versatility from a young age.

Her varied interests and deep sense of school spirit inspired Chloe’s meaningful contributions to Academy’s culture. As Creative Director of Blue Crew, she led spirit initiatives for events like pep rallies, Random Acts of Kindness Week, Homecoming, and Spirit Weeks. She was also a member of Green Club and Film Club, as well as House Captain for Kestrel, not only in fourth and eighth grades, but in her senior year when they won House Day – one of her favorite memories.

Chloe’s commitment to service was just as strong. A member of both National Honor Society and National English Honor Society, she gave her time and talents generously to support others. One of her most meaningful contributions came through an NEHS-led after-school enrichment program connecting Lower and Upper Division students. Inspired by her own memories of joyful visits from older students, Chloe helped coordinate monthly reading and activity sessions that fostered student relationships and mentorship between our youngest and oldest students. Reflecting on the program’s impact, Chloe shares, “Giving back to my community what had once been done for me means a lot. I’m proud of my fellow classmates and underclassmen for continuing and creating traditions that last beyond me.”

Chloe shares that a deep sense of connectedness to her community was key to her success, “ Growing up in an environment where everybody knows and supports one other was a very important part of my school experience. It allowed me to better connect with the people around me and build strong relationships with my teachers. I felt like I could ask for help whenever I needed it, and the teachers cared about my well-being, not just the grade I was getting.” And it shows. Consistently earning Head of School Honors while taking numerous Advanced Placement classes, Chloe was an exemplary student.

Reflecting on her journey and sharing advice with other Wildcats, Chloe urges younger students to “Enjoy every small thing the Academy does to build their community. Don’t skip the Homecoming Tailgate or Friday Night Fanfare. Looking back on my school experience, I hold some of the best memories with my friends during these times.  And do what you love – join the basketball team and play with others or join the baking club and bake with others. There is a place for everyone at Academy.”
