Mount Dora Christian Academy pushed across five runs in the fifth inning to cement a 10-0 win over Trinity Christian Academy on Tuesday and earn a berth in the state Final Four.
MDCA led the Class 2A regional final 5-0 going to the fifth and ended the game early with the five-run fifth due to the mercy rule.
The Bulldogs now head to Vero Beach to take on Belle Glade Glades Day on Tuesday at 11:50 a.m. in a state semifinal. The winner of that game will meet the winner of the other semifinal between Academy at the Lakes and Peniel Baptist Academy on Wednesday at 11:05 a.m. in the state championship game.
