Dear Wildcats,
On behalf of the Upper Division Student Council, it is my honor and privilege to welcome you to Academy at the Lakes! Whether you are a family joining our school for the first time or a returning Wildcat, I want you to know that you are now part of an extraordinary community.
I hope that you will find Academy to be an institution of excellence in education, but also one where it’s totally normal to be in physics class one minute and dressed in full House colors the next (Go Nighthawk!).
From our long-standing traditions like House Day to the Spring Musical, I am certain that you will find your place here at our school. Of course, as with any new school year, it is completely normal to feel anxious, but you should feel comfort knowing that every hallway and classroom you walk into will be filled with students, teachers, and faculty that genuinely care about you and are excited to support and befriend you.
This year is especially historic for Academy, as you’ll be among the first to experience our brand-new facilities, including a black box theater, maker space, computer lab, and many new classrooms and hallways we have added to our campus.
With so much to look forward to, and as you begin this new school year, I encourage you to take risks, ask questions, and get involved with the Wildcat community. Join a club, audition for the play, cheer loudly for our sports teams, and go all out at the Upper Division Retreat. These are the moments that will truly shape your Academy experience, and trust me, they go by far too quickly.
I can’t wait to greet you in person this fall!
Sincerely,
Darren
President, UD Student Council
