Life at the Lakes: March 2026

Invention Convention

Here is a glimpse at Life at the Lakes in March.

Student/Faculty Basketball Game

The annual Student/Faculty basketball game brought the entire school together for an afternoon of friendly competition and school pride.

Students filled the stands cheering on their classmates, while our younger Wildcats proudly supported their teachers. In the end, the Faculty secured the win — and bragging rights for the year — but the real highlight was the strong sense of community shared by all.

Fight, Fight, Blue and White!

Invention Convention

Our 5th and 6th Grade Entrepreneurs Club students showcased their creativity and problem-solving skills at this year’s Invention Convention. After months of designing, building, and refining their ideas, students presented thoughtful solutions aimed at making a difference.

We are proud of the dedication and ingenuity they demonstrated throughout the process.

Congratulations to the students selected to represent Academy at the USF Young Innovators Competition:

  • Jillian M. ’32 – The Bike Beacon
  • Harper W. ’32 – The Stress Away Hoodie
  • Teddy W. ’32 – The SpinZee Pen
  • Lexie F. ’33 & Stella S. ’33 – Sun Fun Jewelry

SK/Senior Fashion Show

Our SK students teamed up with our Seniors for a fabulous fashion show, bringing creativity and fun to the runway. From classic formalwear to themed looks like Star Wars and Super Mario Bros., our littles stole the show.

The event was a joyful celebration of community, with proceeds supporting this year’s Prom.

All-School Musical

The All-School Musical, Hello, Dolly!, continued one of Academy’s most cherished traditions, showcasing the talents of students across the community.

While the cast took center stage, the production was truly a collective effort. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni all played a role — from building and moving sets to performing in the orchestra, coordinating hair and makeup, running stage crew, and designing props.

Their collaboration and dedication brought the production to life and made it a memorable experience for all.

Florida Thespian Senior State Festival

Theater Troupe 3615 made the most of its moment in the spotlight at the Florida Thespian State Competition, the largest of its kind in the world.

After winning the District competition with a standout performance of Xanadu, the troupe earned their place at State and delivered another memorable performance at the iconic Carol Morsani Hall, showcasing energy, talent, and show-stopping spirit.

Congratulations to Aria S. ’27, Parker B. ’27, Emerson T. ’28, Brooke G. ’29, Ycenia G. ’27, Isabella P. ’28, Billy H. ’26, and Rubye B. ’26 for earning Superior and Excellent ratings in their individual events.

We are incredibly proud of this talented group.

Senior Night – Spring Sports

As their final season of high school athletics came to a close, we proudly honored our spring senior athletes with banner presentations and heartfelt recognition.

This group has had an incredible journey, and we are so proud — not only of their accomplishments on the courts, fields, and in the gym, but also of the dedication, leadership, and commitment they have shown to their teams and coaches throughout their time as Wildcats.

Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!

House Day

Some days are better than others, and House Day is always one of the best!

House Day 2026 is officially in the books, once again reminding us why it is such a favorite at Academy. Wildcats of all ages came together for a day filled with field events, spirited chants, and all-school line dances, showcasing teamwork and Wildcat pride at its finest.

While the competition is exciting, what makes House Day truly special is the sense of connection, tradition, and community it builds.

Congratulations to Kestrel, this year’s winner and now back-to-back House Day champions!

Africa Trip

Spring break turned into an unforgettable African adventure for several Academy students and their families.

Their journey began in South Africa, where they stayed at a private game reserve and experienced incredible, up-close wildlife encounters. From there, they traveled to Botswana and stayed along the breathtaking Chobe River, spending their days on jeep excursions and boat safaris to explore the landscape and spot wildlife.

The trip also included a day visit to Zimbabwe, where they experienced the awe-inspiring beauty of Victoria Falls.

From start to finish, the journey was filled with discovery, connection, and memories that will last a lifetime.
