Here is a glimpse at Life at the Lakes in October.
Day of Manners
Good manners never go out of style! Our 7th Graders took their first steps in mastering the art of conversation — learning how small talk can open doors, build confidence, and make connections.
They put their new skills to the test with classmates and teachers — and nailed it! Just the beginning of a year filled with lessons in confidence, kindness, and respect.

Senior/SK Cake Bake
Cake is the answer, no matter the question! Seniors and their Senior Kindergarten buddies teamed up for the beloved SR/SK Cake Bake — mixing, decorating, and celebrating in true Academy spirit.
The day ended with a sweet surprise — a colorful buttercream showdown that made this tradition one of the year’s most memorable!

Medieval Festival
Let’s Get Medieval!
Our 7th Graders traveled back to the Middle Ages! They presented research on medieval regions, became storytellers crafting their own tales, and brought history to life with archery, axe throwing, and catapults they built themselves in the Maker Space.
A legendary day of learning, ingenuity, and fun!

Powder Puff
McCormick Campus was buzzing as the Upper Division ladies hit the field for a fierce face-off! Touchdowns, big plays, and sideline sass made for an epic showdown.
The juniors came out on top, defeating the sophomores to claim back-to-back titles for the Class of 2027. Huge shoutout to the Upper Division guys for bringing the hype from the sidelines!
Founders Day – 33 Never Looked So Good!
We celebrated Academy at the Lakes’ birthday with our beloved Founders Day traditions! From a talent-packed assembly to spirited House activities, it was a day full of creativity, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments.
A huge thanks to everyone who made it so special — here’s to 33 years of Wildcat pride!

Upper Division Trip to San Francisco – The City by the Bay!
Our UD students took a cross-country trip to explore the sights, history, and spirit of San Francisco! They visited Alcatraz, crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, strolled through Chinatown, and navigated winding Lombard Street before relaxing at Fisherman’s Wharf.
Oh — and yes, In-N-Out was part of the fun.
A short trip, a long distance, and memories that will last a lifetime!

Buddy Reading – Turning Pages, Creating Connections
Upper and Middle Division students visited the Lower Division to share stories with our youngest readers. Between books, games, and conversations, Buddy Reading Day was full of laughter, learning, and community.
A treasured tradition that makes our school so special!

Spirit Week
Spirit Week was full of energy and school pride! From wild relay races and fun dress-up days to an unforgettable pep rally, the whole school was on its feet.
The week wrapped up with an epic tailgate and an action-packed homecoming game.

Upper Division Theater Showcase
At the UD Theater Showcase, our talented students took the stage, bringing 20th-century scenes to life and putting their acting skills into action.
The performance highlighted their artistry and dedication to the performing arts — bravo to all!

Halloween
Halloween was a full day of fun across campus! Lower, Middle, and Upper Division students came together for parades, games, costumes, and trick-or-treating. Bigs and Littles made spider rings, wrapped each other as mummies, took photos, and more.
A spooktacular day from start to finish!
