KNOPF, WRUBLE, KILFOYL, HINES, AVERY NAMED 2018-19 MAXPREPS / NFCA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS OF WEEK

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sofia Knopf of Norton (Mass.) High School, Ashley Wruble of DuBois Central High (Pa.), Lexi Kilfoyl of Academy at the Lakes High (Land O’Lakes, Fla.), Kenedy Hines of Klein Collins High (Spring, Texas) and Elizabeth Avery of Bishop O’Dowd High (Oakland, Calif.) were selected MaxPreps / NFCA National High School Players of the Week for their outstanding play during the week of May 20-26.

South Region
Kilfoyl struck out a total of 19 while tossing a no-hitter and an one-hitter in back-to-back shutouts last week for the Wildcats. The senior pitched a five-inning one-hitter with nine strikeouts against Peniel Baptist Academy last Tuesday, then fanned 10 in a five-inning no-hitter versus Mount Dora Christian Academy. She also helped herself at the plate, going 4-for-8 (.500) with a double, triple, homer and six RBI.
