Academy at the Lakes
Whatever floats your boat!Honors Physics students finished their study of fluids by working in teams to build their own cardboard boats for our first ever Cardboard Boat Regatta. Students used their knowledge of Archimedes’ Principle to make predictions about the minimum surface area and volume necessary to generate enough buoyant force to support the boat and one of the team members. Students then traveled to the Land O Lakes Rec Center Pool for a float test and the final race. Afterwards, students analyzed both their successes and failures.
